Elisabeth van Dorp

Commissioned by the Dutch Museum of Antiquities in Leiden, I worked as a photographer during excavations in Saqqara, Egypt  near pyramid Djoser and in Northern Syria, near a village called Hammam-et-Turkman.

The Pyramid of Djoser is located i30 km (19 miles) south of Cairo, not far from the ancient city of Memphis. Built around ca. 2650 BC  it is considered the oldest Egyptian stone structure and the first pyramid.
